Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water

 

Healthy oceans and seas are all across the Earth,

Life of every creature has a lot of worth

Development should happen but a balance should be maintained,

Marine life gets affected too and they should be sustained.

 

Oil spills, over fishing and acidifications,

Harm the beautiful marine creations

Marine life like fish can’t differentiate,

Between food and plastic, they become inaccurate.

 

Fishing that is illegal and unreported,

Eating such a fish that is imported

Interrupts the balance of marine animals,

Including big or small fish and even mammals.

 

Government should end subsidies that lead to over-fishing

It is not commendable to do such a thing.

The international sea law, every country should follow,

Reduce the wastage that fishes swallow.

 

Scientific technology and research should be recognised all across,

Better ocean health should be made the most important cause.

Marine technology should be available to all,

Whether the country is big or small.

Action for climate change, world leaders should apply,

Or else coral reef from rising temperature will destroy

Develop costal region and reclaim land with regulation,

So that marine life and humans don’t lose their relation.

 

Life below water should be sustained and protected,

However, the care for marine life is neglected

100 million marine mammals die because of plastic pollution,

To save their life, we all need to make a contribution.
