How I Made a Difference?

A girl named Reena once asked her mother eagerly, “What is the meaning of making a difference and how it can be done?” Her mother was glad to answer the question raised by her daughter and explained, “Making a difference means, influencing something. It could be on the environment or people. You can make a difference by donating or raising money for a good cause, follow the three R’s –REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE, show gratitude, help others, become a good friend and a human being.” Reena clearly understood it and kept it in her mind. Later that day, on her way for basketball practice, Reena saw a poor man sitting in the corner of the street. He was looking pale and was shivering because of the cold. Reena asked her mother, “Can we help this poor man by providing him with some food to eat and clothes to wear?” Her mother readily agreed. They went to the nearby market and brought some food and clothes for him. The man was elated and blessed Reena and her mother. Her mother also appreciated her. At night, Reena recalled her experience and realized that although she cannot help everybody, but even by helping a few, she can make a huge difference. The same thing we all can apply in our lives.
